The Light Horse Inn has a 225 year history in Harpers Ferry - Bolivar. Originally known as The Keyes Inn opening in the late 1780s to serve travelers to the Western Frontier. The Inn served as a tavern, stagecoach stop and post office. The Inn was a strategic business move on the part of the Keyes family to monetize on travelers heading back and forth from Philadelphia and Washington. You will see the Keyes family name on nearby road signs depicting Keyes Gap and Keyes Ferry.
Old stone steps lead into the main Hall of the Light Horse Inn. Walk to restaurants, Appalachian trail, historic lower town Harpers Ferry. Kayak, tube, raft, zip line and enjoy all the natural outdoor activities found in the area. Explore the local battlefields and enjoy vineyard tours and tastings at our award winning vineyards.
